This is the beginning of the Boulder View project. A very creative & exciting piece that required a lot of energy and knowledge that has been learned over the last 40 years.
First I came up with a design and then an armature was made from wire to allow me to sculpture the boulder and building from Paper Mache
After the rocks are created, then I start sculpting with paint.
The rocks and house are starting to come to life and taking on character.
When it came time for the painting we took another trip to the Good's house on Sebago lake to take more pictures. I then asked my beautiful and talented lady Donna Gower Kanter to paint the scene. As you can see we make quite a team.
We are nearing the and of the project. I made a tuft of grass from grocery bag paper and carved 3 leaves from Basswood. Last but not least, the beautiful sign "Boulder View" was designed and made by Terry Sweat of Sweat Signs
The completed Boulder View piece measures 43'' wide by 47'' high. A fun and exciting project by Bahr Studio.
